Meet Vivian, founder of Coffeebae97 which started out as a quarantine hobby that ended up being her full time job! Creating coffee recipes in the pandemic inspired her to launch her own coffee company back in 2021.

 

What is your story?

The story of Coffee Bae started in quarantine during the pandemic. I was bored at home and needed to satisfy my coffee cravings. I did not know how to make coffee at home so I started experimenting. One day my coffee came out delicious and I had to share it with the world. The name coffeebae97 actually was a finsta name. I was inspired by a viral tiktok video of someone calling themselves “Shawty Bae”. Very random but it stuck to me. 

What inspired the Mala collab? 

The inspiration behind the candle was from my first “viral” coffee recipe. The blueberry latte. It was a midsummer day and I wanted to create a yummy ~ fruity coffee concoction.  I’m so excited about this collab because Mala is the coolest candle company that I found via TikTok. We wanted to create a fun scent that is coffee inspired but with a twist. 

What does a typical day look like? 

I start every single morning off with an iced latte (are you surprised). I love having a slow morning so I like to spend my mornings drinking my coffee, planning my day and spending time with my dog. Around 11 am  is when I start actual “work” which consists of filming, answering emails, meetings, etc. By the time 5 pm rolls around, I start getting ready to go to a workout class. My favourite at the moment is cycling classes. After that, I shower make dinner and scroll on tiktok until I fall asleep. 

If you weren't running your platform, what would you be doing?

I recently found a new love for flying so if I wasn't running my platform, I'd love to be a pilot. But in reality I think I would be working at a random corporate company if coffeebae97 did not exist. 

Favourite and not-so-favourite part of your business?

My favourite part is connecting with like minded people all over the world. It’s like having “built in” besties on the internet – I love it. My least favourite part is the very high screen time on my phone.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 

In 5 years, I would love to see myself owning a little coffee farm and living out my coffee dreams.
